Za’atar (zaatar) is a mixture of sumac, sesame seed, thyme, oregano, hyssop, salt and cumin. Our’s is imported from Lebanon.
In the Levant(Eastern Mediterranean), there is a belief that za’atar makes the mind alert and the body strong.
Za’atar also serves as a seasoning to sprinkle on vegetables, salads or kebabs.
Make a delicious dip by mixing some Za’atar, Garlic, Olive oil in thick Yogurt or Try to incorporate some Za’atar in your diet everyday, sprinkle on top of your pizza, cheese sandwich for breakfast or season your tofu or paneer with it for dinner!
